THE TIME

08/06/2022 1600 miles to the Marquesas Islands 2400 miles behind us.

The wind and current have dropped.

We’re slowing down…

It’s very long aaaaaaa, I can’t wait to get there, I can’t wait to dive into the sea, I can’t wait to lie down on the beach.

The hours: every day weighs twice as much, every hour is infinite, the minutes are marked by the constant whistling of the wind that seems to slow rather than push time.

I am heartened by the total absence of the dreaded heat.

Living together on board is good but Caf (Luca Cafasso, my assistant) is also tired: his jokes are less and less scathing and frequent.

Yesterday at 5pm we crossed the equator.

JK’s bow points more and more to the south.

This is the longest leg of the entire round-the-world trip, what a madness this round-the-world trip is.
